Champagne Salon, Champagne
Undoubtedly one of the greatest Champagnes in the world, Salon ‘S’ was conceived in the early 1900s by Eugène-Aimé Salon from a single vintage, from a single cru in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and from a single grape variety, Chardonnay. The wines are cellared in the bottle for an average of 10 years, gaining in complexity and finesse. Today, the house of Salon, along with its ancient neighbour and sister, Champagne Delamotte (the fifth oldest Champagne house, founded in 1760) are directed by one man, Didier Depond.
