Bodegas Y Vinedos Pujanza, Rioja

Consistently rated as one of Spain’s ‘First Growths’ by Tim Atkin in his annual Rioja Report

Carlos San Pedro, owner and technical director of Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza, is also the fourth generation of a family of vine-growers, wine-makers and wine merchants of Laguardia. Pujanza is his more personal project. A dream, which was born during his childhood and was materialised in 1998, when Carlos decided to produce his first own wine, his first Pujanza.

The winery is situated at the foot of Sierra de Cantabria in Rioja Alavesa, surrounded by some of most characteristic vineyards, in an area of rather high altitude – in fact, the Pujanza grows grapes at some of the highest altitudes in the entire Rioja region.
